If something isn't right!

Hi folks!

I've noticed some people saying that they have no smilies, and some saying there's no something else...blah blah.

If there's something you can't see or don't understand about the new forum software PLEASE tell me about it via PM or in the Suggestion's forum. It probably IS there but you just can't see it...

As for smilies :woot: they're all there still!

Also, the chappie who was called Morpheus but is now something else...you still can be morpheus if you had e-mailed me and told me that you wanted your password resetting!

Re: If something isn't right!

Agree, this board is much more responsive.

I'm not a great user of smilies but they are fun to have so I'm supporting them too!

Only thing I have noticed is that posts are being displayed out of order. Take a look at my TXD Invasion topic in The Bar and note the submission times...

Re: If something isn't right!

All ok here Ian Although I would like to see the Grin Smilie back and also the TURNIP smilie in the main box rather than keep opening the 'more' selection!

All very good stuff though. Took a while to get used to it

You click on "Add Reply", type in your message and then you can either click on the "Insert Image" icon which is like a little yellow square with a mountain ring in it...OR if you scroll down a little bit when enterting your post, you can attach a file, in the same way as you could on the other forum.

Re: If something isn't right!

Ian, I've posted three or four times today at work and all the posts showed there but back home, they are missing.

Also, at times, when posting or choosing to reply, I'm getting a lot of generic 'page cannot be displayed' errors from IE. Jeff has just mentioned the same thing happening too (although being confused with a DSL modem issue being discussed). This again happens both at home and at work.

Finally, the submission orders are playing up something chronic! Take the Wanadoo topic in Computer Help, all over the place!

Help!

Re: If something isn't right!

I had that too Tech. IE wouldn't let me post that what I called "cheesy diagram" of that reverse driver thingy if you remember, and came up with an error saying that the page cannot be found.
Im using Firefox now, (wouldn't recommend it) and it doesn't happen, but seems to log me out on every third or so page I click on. The screen just shows two boxes to fill in with my log-in details again.

Could do with some help too.

Cheers.

Re: If something isn't right!

Yep, I get the login details at times too. I put it down to security but it may be a bug.

I suppose we have to appreciate Ian has done a lot in a short time to get the board over to the new platform so there may be buglets to iron out.

Over to you Ian old buddy!

Re: If something isn't right!

Oi...less of the old :)

Ok...I too get the random page cannot be displayed screens, but a refresh often sorts that out, I will tweak a few settings to see if that makes any difference.

As for post dates, i'm going to alter the setting which tells you when the last post was (i.e. yesterday, 10 mins ago, etc, etc.) so that it prints the actual time/date of the post and i'll see if there's anything wrong there.

There's a hell of a lot to learn about vBulletin, it's certainly a major transition for me, especially as there's a lot of real life stuff going on at the moment, i.e. our iminent arrival. Certainly a big difference between free and paid for software.

Tech, seems odd that your posts you posted at work are missing now...are they ALL missing??? Check tomorrow to see if they still exist.
